Wasaga Beach has changed significantly over the years. Still a popular ‘city escape’ and summer home to many cottagers, there has been a good deal of progress and growth through the years. More people are leaving the cities to retire in Wasaga Beach, a natural and less polluted setting. No doubt this will continue, and the natural resources offered here will become even more precious and especially welcome to city dwellers. Regardless of how one describes Wasaga Beach, for me it will always be home!

Important Reminders!

Winter parking bylaw is in effect; vehicles may be tagged and/or towed away.

• Bagged leaves ( paper bags only) must be at the roadside for pickup. No plastic bags accepted. Use paper kraft bags or cardboard boxes for yard waste. Dates available through the new waste management calendar     www.simcoe.ca/waste    or call 1-800-263-3199 for times.  REMEMBER- PAPER BAGS FOR LEAVES!
• Placement of materials on the roadside is prohibited.
• Call Public Works  (705-429-2540) 24 hours in advance for water turn off. There is a fee for service.
• Sheds, additions, decks, driveway paving, culvert installation, ditching all require permits!
• Due to an increased in applications, allow 4 -6 weeks to obtain a Building Permit.
• Parks and Recreation is offering many Fall/Winter recreation programs - pick up a free Brochure.
• Smoke detectors save lives! Contact our local fire department for a free inspection.
• Reach Wasaga Beach alive - If you drink, don’t drive!
• Does your latest Assessment of your property in Wasaga Beach raise doubts for its assessment value? Contact us - we may be able to assist.
• Two bags of garbage are allowed for pickup every other week while the alternate week is recycling pick up. Additional bags to pick up require tags which may be purchased at Public Works. Check out www.simcoe.ca/waste for details on pickups.
